- Mechanical Gauge:Features a sending unit which, in some cases, is pre-attached to a hard/soft line. This line carries what you are measuring, as in oil, coolant, boost, etc. to your gauge for its reading.
- Electric Gauge:Features a sending unit which is mounted at your measuring source, as in fuel rail for fuel pressure, oil source for oil pressure, etc. A wire runs from the sending unit to the gauge which transmits its reading.
